dispute. The victim reported that the Actor
physically assaulted her and restrained her from leaving the
residence. During this time the Actor removed the home telephones
and destroyed the victims cellular telephone, so that she could not
contact police. The Actor turned himself into ECPD. He was
transported for arraignment and released on an ROR bond.

Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Eighth Street
for a report of a break-in. The victim and witnesses gave written
statements in regard to the incident. The defendant, who was unknown
by the victim,
broke into the home through a bathroom window taking a watch and
wedding ring. This incident is under investigation, pending criminal
charges.

A resident reported to police that her 1998 Chevrolet Astro van was
damaged overnight while parked at her residence. The rear passenger
side cargo window was broken out. Once officers reviewed the damage,
the
vehicle showed no signs of blunt force and the window appeared to be
bowed out, which lead officers and the
co-owner of the vehicle to believe that the damage source was heat
and not Criminal Mischief. Estimated damages are believed to be
approx. $500.

Officer responded to the 100 block of Fountain Avenue when a
resident reported to officers that an unknown female walked into
their residence. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed
the female arguing with
the homeowner. Officers noticed the female had an odor of
intoxicating beverage emanating from her breath
and she was staggering and swaying. Murphy was placed under arrest
for Public Drunkenness, transported to
the station and released to a relative.

It was reported to police that while visiting at a friend’s home, a
small child, 2 years old was bitten on the face
by a Chow-Pitt/Bull mix dog. The child was taken immediately to the
Ellwood City Hospital, where is was transported to Children’s
Hospital for treatment. The wound was approx. 2 inches in length and
required 20 stitches to close. The mother of the child described the
animal as aggressive and believes this is not the first
time the dog has bitten someone. ECPD Officers contacted the Animal
Control Officer. The incident is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the Beaver Avenue address for a male who
was refusing to leave. When officers arrived and spoke to both the
victim and the suspect, the victim stated she only wanted him to
leave. Officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming
from the suspect’s breath and person and his speech was slurred, at
which time the officers advised the suspect to leave the residence
or he would be arrested. The
suspect began to yell obscenities at officers while refusing to
leave the residence. At this time he was placed under arrest. The
suspect still would not comply, continuing to pull away from
officers. The suspect was taken to the police station and placed in
a cell until he sobered up and was advised he would receive charges
by summons.

When police and Noga Ambulance Service arrived on scene, the victim
had passed away for unknown reasons. Foul play is not suspected The

prescription, Bessie Littleton, age 31 of 832 Main Street,
Bridgeport Ohio and John Andrew Mesko of 195 Windy Drive, Ellwood
City were placed under arrest.

Police were dispatched to a home on Eighth Street for a report of
criminal mischief. In speaking with the victim, it was noted that
while sleeping a loud crash was heard outside the home. When the
crash was investigated, a large ceramic flowerpot had been shoved
off the front porch, breaking into several pieces. The value of the
flowerpot is estimated to be around $90. It was noted that a pick-up
truck was seen driving up the road and that the truck rear window
was covered by plastic. If anyone has information in regard to this

A victim came to the Police Station call box to report that DeSanzo
had assaulted her and her children. Officers did not notice any type
of injuries, but the victim did have red marks on the neck/chest
area. While the victim gave police a written statement about the
incident, officers tried to locate the suspect at his home. Unable
to locate him at the residence, officers were able to speak to
DeSanzo by phone and advised him to come to the station and report
on his side of the incident. Officers advised the victim on how to
obtain a PFA and advised that they would be filing three non-traffic
citations for Harassment against DeSanzo.

Ellwood City Hospital for treatment. Officers took statements from
both the victim and witness and both identified the suspect. The

Officers were called to the North area of Fifth Street Bridge for a
manhole cover being off resulting in a motor vehicle hit it and
damaged a tire. Officers located the manhole cover at the entrance
to the old water treatment plant. Officers spoke to the operator of
the motor vehicle that was involved and noted that the rear driver’s
side tire was flat. Officers stet up a road flare on the manhole
cover to alert other drivers, contacted the Ellwood City Street

This Afternoon, ECPD officers responded to a call of shots fired in
the 400 block of Loop Street. Once on scene, ECPD officers were able
to determine that a group of known persons were involved in an
altercation in the middle of the street. This altercation was a
result of an ongoing dispute between the parties involved. As a
result of this altercation, one of the male actors involved produced
a handgun and fired one shot into a vehicle that the victim was
driving. The victim, the only person inside of the vehicle at the
time the shot was fired was not struck by the bullet. The bullet was
lodged in the interior driver’s side door of the vehicle. ECPD
officers were directed to the residence of 404 Loop Street, where
the actors were supposed to have been located. Once at this
location, ECPD officers came into contact with two males that were
identified as Actors that took part in the assault of the victim.
One Actor was identified as Michael Hunter and the second male was
identified as a juvenile, not from the Ellwood City area. Both
Hunter and this juvenile were taken into custody and transported to
the ECPD. Hunter and the juvenile, who was being changed as an
adult, were charged with aggravated assault and other related
charges. They were arraigned and lodged in the Lawrence County Jail
on $10,000 bond. Also confiscated from this location was a 9mm
handgun. It is unknown at this time if the firearm was the one
involved in the shooting incident. A third suspect, described as a
heavy set white male, was identified as the shooter. This male fled
the scene prior to police arrival. ECPD officers searched the area,
including the wooded area behind Loop Street, for the Actor with
negative results. The third actor was also identified as a juvenile,
who did not reside in the Ellwood City Area. ECPD along with several
other police agencies are attempting to locate this male who is
believed to be armed.

his vehicle and became confrontational with the victim. Officers
could smell a strong intoxicating odor of alcohol emanating from the
breath of the defendant, who admitted he had been drinking. Miller

Police were contacted by several residents in the area in regard to
gas being siphoned from their vehicles. The victims told officers
that they noticed the gas cap door open and the cap removed. One
resident advised officers of missing expired cards from Lowe’s and

heard someone outside and other residents heard nothing.
In another incident that occurred at a business location, officers
were advised that vehicles in the parking lot, also had gasoline
siphoned out of them. Officers also located a garden hose lying on

A theft that occurred at the 1000 Block of Rosannah Street was
reported to Police. Various items were removed from a 2003 Chrysler.
Items removed included a Digital Camera, a wallet containing
identification, credit/debit cards and a checkbook. The owner was
advised that her bankcard had been used in the Ellwood City area and
in the Pittsburgh area. Police were able to collect surveillance
video to identify the suspects along with interviewing store clerks
where the bankcard had been used. Officers made contact with the
defendant’s family at which time police were granted to search the
residence and vehicle. Items seized from the residence-included drug
and drug paraphernalia, along with a confession of entering and
taking items from the 2003 Chrysler vehicle. The suspect admitted to
various actions from entering many vehicles and taking anything of
value to siphoning gas from several other vehicles over various
dates. Another male juvenile admitted to assisting Buccelli with the
thefts and receiving the stolen items. He stated he was with
Buccelli when the vehicle theft occurred and when the stolen credit
card was used to make purchases. |

Police were contacted by the owner of My House Bar to report an
incident of Forgery. The suspect had cashed two checks at the
victim’s place of business and May 25 and May 26. Woods then
contacted the victim and advise him that there was a problem with
the bank account, so she could make good on the checks. Woods then
paid the victim by having him cash a “Stimulus Check”. When the
Business owner tried to cash the “Stimulus Check” at the bank, he
was advised they could only cash the check for the person whom it
check was made payable to. After trying to contact Woods at an
address provided, the victim realized there was a problem and
contacted police. Police spoke to the person who’s name was on the
check and it was determined the check did not belong to the suspect.
Woods was placed under arrest for Forgery, transported to District
Justice Amodie’s officer for arraignment. A Preliminary hearing is
set for June 25, 2008. |

Police were dispatched to Line Avenue in regard to unauthorized use
of a vehicle. When officers made contact with the caller, the victim
stated her 2008 Pontiac G6 was taken without permission. While
officers were patrolling the area, officers located a vehicle
fitting the description in question. Returning to the victims home,
the suspect Joshua McDowell was in the residence. Officers requested
and were granted permission from the homeowner to search the
bathroom and bedroom of the home. While conducting a search of the
suspect’s bedroom, officers seized drug paraphernalia. At the time
of this incident, Joshua McDowell was charged with unauthorized use
of a motor vehicle, and narcotic related charges.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lawrence Avenue due to
a report of an intoxicated woman standing in the street. Officers
came into contact with the woman who was staggering in the middle of

Street for a vehicle accident. When officers arrived, the driver of
a 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer and the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet
Tracker were in a verbal confrontation over the accident. It was
determined that driver of the Tracker was stopped at a stop sign
westbound on Pittsburgh Circle pulled out in front of the Blazer who
was north bound on Second Street. No one was injured and both
vehicles had to be towed from the scene. |

Police were dispatched to the Northview Estates in regard to a
suspicious motor vehicle in the back parking lot. Area residents
were confronted by the driver of the 2007 GMC Pick-up truck and they
advised officers the believed the male driver was intoxicated.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle, requesting Heinz for
required identification. In speaking with Heinz, officers noticed a
strong odor of alcoholic beverage, at which time requested him to
submit to a series of Field Sobriety Tests, which were failed. Heinz
was placed under arrest and taken to the Ellwood City Hospital for a
blood alcohol test.
