EllwoodCity.org Staff
Ellwood City’s newest restaurant, Nico
Luciano’s, opened its doors on Friday, March 21, 2008 to local customers
seeking Italian Mediterranean flavor. Their dinner cuisine is complemented
with a wide menu of pizzas, calzones, and fresh, everyday specialties
including a “Pittsburgh” style pizza that has the pizza toppings under the
melted cheese.
Nico Luciano’s is located in Ellwood City on
First Avenue at the intersection of Spring Avenue in what was the former
Main Gate Restaurant building. The restaurant is open seven days a week
from 11:00am to 10:00pm Monday through Saturday and 11:00am to 7:00pm on
Sundays. Luciano's delivers to the Ellwood City area.
The restaurant is co-owned by Robert Lucarelli
and wife Charlene who will receive plenty of help from the seven boys of the
Lucarelli family in operating the new restaurant. The seven Lucarelli boys
range in age from nine to twenty and include Ben and Nico, along with
additional co-owner Bryan Lucarelli. Ben, who spoke with EllwoodCity.org
about the new facility, says the restaurant is named after the youngest Lucarelli, Nico, who will turn nine this year and is the “golden boy” of the
family after overcoming a premature birth.
