Fresh Produce and Friendly People
April 30, 2008
It’s that time of the year again, local residents can turn the calendar to
May after April left us with one of the coldest evenings of the spring
Tuesday night. Summer in only a few more weeks away -- so why not celebrate
it with some fresh produce.
Starting Saturday May 3rd, Wampum will be hosting a marketplace where you
can enjoy the smiles of friendly people, fresh local produce, and even
specialty-crafted items. This event will be located in the empty lot next to
the Northwest Savings Bank on Main Street in Wampum, PA 16157, near the
former Wampum Market.
The fun starts for all participating vendors Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until
noon. This tradition hopes to be sewed this Saturday and continue through
June, July, August, September, and October. The marketplace will be open the
first Saturday of those months.
The marketplace hopes be a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the fresh
air, talk with some old friends as well as new ones, and also a chance to
sell your goods. Interested parties are more than welcome to set up at their
own vendor booth. There is no set up cost for Saturday May 3rd but following
the inaugural Saturday there is a $5 fee on each Saturday. There is also a
chance to pay $20 for the whole season in advance. So on Saturday May 3rd,
come out to get a share of the fresh local produce and the friendly fun here
at the 1st Saturday Marketplace.
*This event is sponsored by the Wampum Area Business Association, Inc.
