Even the youngest of women can have a
positive impact on those less fortunate as 4-year old Brooke Ann Cooper
of North Sewickley got an impressive and touching hair cut from
Fantastic Sams in Chippewa earlier this year.
“I told her I didn’t like the idea,” said
Brooke’s father, Brian Cooper of her daughter’s idea to get her hair cut
‘like Dora.’ “But at that time she got all choked up and said ‘But,
Daddy I want to give it to a sick little girl that doesn’t have any
hair,” Mr. Cooper added.
That's where Locks of Love steps in. Locks
of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces for
financially disadvantaged children under the age of 18 that suffer from
hair loss due to their medical condition.
“I can not argue with that kind of logic
coming from a 4-year old,” said Mr. Cooper.
And so on May 17th Brooke went ahead with
the haircut, accompanied by her mother Valerie Cooper at Fantastic Sams.
Brooke got her pretty blonde locks cut off and bundled in a ponytail for
submission to Locks of Love. Her new hair-do "just looks adorable"
says a very proud Mr. Cooper.
To date, Locks of Love has helped over
2,000 children and over 80 percent of the donors are children making
this a notable charity where children have the chance to help other
children.
