The Ellwood City Area School District proudly
presented Broadway’s Footloose musical over the weekend at the
Lincoln Auditorium. The high-school musical, showing three days, was
directed by Laura Adams, Felecia Greco, Angela Pieri-Katkin, Alissa Lemmon,
Cara Nardone, and Cynthia Pertile.
Footloose is a musical about a High
School Teenager named Ren, played by Anthony Costulas, who moves from
Chicago to an uptight Bomont. Once in Bomont, Ren finds things a little
different.
In Bomont there are strict rules outlawing
certain pleasures, including dancing. At the head of the Bomont town council
is Rev. Shaw Moore played by Zack Varrati, he is the man responsible for the
strict rules. Ren’s only chance to rewrite a few town laws lies with the
Reverend daughter Ariel played by Andie Verone.
The show premiered Friday night, showed
Saturday night, and wrapped up with a Sunday matinee. Over 200 Lincoln
Students participated in the musical headlined by Costulas, Varrati, and
Verone.
