Riverside Teacher to Serve as Master Of Ceremonies
November 6, 2009

Riverside Teacher and Girls’ Tennis coach Vaughn Hudspath has been selected to serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the First Annual Epilepsy Gala Fundraiser on November 7 at the National Track and Field Armory in New York City.

Produced by the Columbia University Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and The Epilepsy Coalition, this national event is to raise epilepsy awareness through education, to advance epilepsy research, and to find a cure for epilepsy.

“I guess my dream of being a master of ceremonies like Bob Hope may still come true; he was the ultimate master of ceremonies to me,” Hudspath said.

Hudspath has been recognized by National Geographic as an international teaching ambassador. He recently conducted educational research in Japan under the direction of National Geographic and will be traveling to South America to continue his work in the area of environmental science.

The Epilepsy Gala will include dinner, entertainment, speakers, and honorees. Featured guest artist for the Gala is American Idol winner and Grammy-nominated recording artist Fantasia Barrino. Honorees are Alan Faneca from the New York Jets, Chanda Gunn, Olympic Ice Hockey goalie and bronze medalist at the 2006 Winter Olympics, and Florence Griffith-Joyner, Olympic runner.
