No Gym? Watch a video
May 28, 2009
ECO Staff – Laure Cioffi, senior journalist

ELLPORT – Nathalie Kuffer understands how hard it is to make it to the gym.

So the longtime fitness expert has learned to make do with everyday objects at home -- even a kid or two -- to help her get the workout she would normally get at a gym.

Now she’s hoping to share that knowledge with the masses by making her own fitness video “No Equipment, No Gym, No Excuses.”

“I’m trying to teach people how to work out from home. And by using my kids I can easily get a better workout,” she said.

She has been filming segments at her Ellport home and at locations in Ellwood City over the
last few weeks.

In one segment she demonstrates how to properly do a squatting exercise and then pulls in her 8-year-old daughter Chloe to jump on her back to show how the exercise can be done with more resistance.

Her 6-year-old son Max also gets into the act, as well as Kuffer’s husband, Luke, demonstrating other exercises.
Nathalie Kuffer, founder and CEO of Wellness To You Mobile Fitness Services, demonstrates how exercises can be done at home in her new video “No Equipment, No Gym, No Excuses” which will be posted on her web site. Kuffer of Ellport is being filmed by videographer Dmitriy Zaytsen while she and her husband, Luke, demonstrate some exercises that can be done in the back yard.

The concept for the video came from her own life experiences after having two children and realizing she doesn’t have a free two hours every day to make it to her favorite gym for a workout.

When finished, Kuffer intends to post the video on her web site for her mobile fitness business, Fun `n Fit, at www.funnfit.us, and You Tube. She is also making a promotional video for her business, Wellness to You, which can be found on the Internet at http://wellnesstoyou.us/.

Wellness to You follows the same concept of bringing fitness and other health services to your home by allowing someone to find those services by plugging in their zip code into her web site and locating all local providers listed. She currently has more than 300 providers listed in 36 states and Canada.

“I’m proud to say I’m the only directory of mobile services,” she said.

Kuffer is even using some of the local professionals listed on her Wellness to You site in her promotional video.

Joanie Lapic of New Brighton was demonstrating the benefits of reflexology in one segment.

Lapic, who also specializes in herbology aromatherapy and iridology, explained that reflexology involves massaging the bottoms of the feet in a specific way that helps stimulate a person’s system and positively affect their health.

The idea of creating a video explaining her services and making her own exercise video have been on Kuffer’s radar for some time, but she had no idea how to go about it.

Then, by chance, Dmitriy Zaytsen, an engineer at the Eaton Corporation in Pittsburgh, where Kuffer works as the corporate fitness director, told her he was starting his own videography business.

The two are working on the videos, which will be posted on Kuffer’s web site in the near future.
